Ultra-luxury brands beware, another one of your comrades is falling down the shame spiral and building a - gasp - SUV! Sure that’s a little dramatic, but so are all of the people that are scoffing at the fact that Bentley has now confirmed a new SUV scheduled to hit their lineup sometime in 2015. If everyone remembers correctly, these are the same people that were horrified that Porsche decided to build the Cayenne and look how well that turned out for them.

Now, with a 37-percent increase in sales in 2011 (to 7,003 vehicles sold), Bentley is looking to double this number by the time this new SUV comes out by making it "the world’s most luxurious 4x4" SUV and targeting growing SUV markets like the U.S. and China. The "luxurious" title will also match the price; rumors point to the starting price for this future SUV coming in at $271,000, making the $48,200 starting price of the Porsche Cayenne look like it belongs on a Kia Sportage.

It's not often that we get to talk about a new Rolls-Royce, what with the fact that the company's current model line is basically made up of two vehicles. But that all changes here at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, with the introduction of what might be the most emotional Roller of modern times, the Wraith. The new two-door Rolls is effectively a Ghost coupe, and it stands to reason that this is Royce's answer to the Bentley Continental GT, albeit at a higher price point. Much higher, actually – the 245,000-euro – $320k USD – price of entry for the Wraith is about $100,000 more than a Continental GT Speed coupe.
Woof. And to our eyes, all that extra money isn't buying you much in the looks department, as the collective opinion of the Autoblog editors on-site in Geneva is that it's more imposing than elegant. But the Wraith will no doubt be a special, exclusive, impressive machine for anyone who plunks down that sort of cash. For starters, it's powered by a V12 that puts out an impressive 624 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque mated to an eight-speed ZF "Satellite Aided" transmission. This nifty cog-swapper actually works with GPS to not only pre-select the right gear for the portion of road you're on, but for the next portion of you'll be driving on, as well. That, friends, is cool. Of course, the Wraith will be laden with every bit of luxury befitting of a proper Rolls-Royce including "Phantom-grade" cow hides, new Canadel wood trim and the same Starlight Headliner fiber optic roof lighting found in the brand's flagship sedan. The company is also touting the Wraith's onboard voice command technology, which will no doubt be paired with the most up-to-date infotainment tech on the market. When the muscle era was reaching its performance peak, the meanest Corvettes were the big-block monsters with 427- and 454-cubic-inch beasts under their hoods. But just when it seemed that all 'Vette glory was going to be earned with cubes, along comes the sweetly balanced, nicely detailed and still dang quick LT-1 powered by a 370-horsepower, 350-cubic-inch small-block V8.

Actually, that 370-horse rating was likely an understatement. The solid-lifter, 11.0:1 compression ratio, four-barrel carbureted LT-1 engine (also used in that year's Camaro Z/28) likely made closer to 400 hp. But with insurance rates rising, there was no reason to shout about such details. And by 1971, impending emissions regulations and low-lead and unleaded gasoline meant that compression ratios dropped and solid lifters became more problematic. In 1971 the LT-1's rating dropped to a realistic 330 hp and the last LT-1 built for 1972 ran at a claimed 255 hp.

The Infiniti Emerg-E is a two-place hybrid gasoline-electric concept that made its world debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. While its sleek shape and stunning styling dropped jaws, those on the green side of things immediately recognized it as a reskinned and updated Lotus 414E – itself a concept based on the Evora that debuted at the same show only two years earlier. Yet there is little wrong with a reworked, Infiniti-badged Lotus boasting 402 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque, especially when it features a lightweight, all-aluminum bonded chassis beneath an attractive carbon fiber skin penned by the automaker's Southern California design team.
The hybrid powertrain is all contained aft of the cockpit. Primary propulsion is accomplished with two electric motors, one on each rear wheel, both featuring its own single-speed transmission (this design eliminates the need for a differential and provides electronic torque vectoring control). Energy for the electric motors is stored in a 15-kWh lithium-ion battery placed behind the seats, which is chemically different from the lithium-polymer pack Lotus used in its 414E. Auxiliary propulsion comes from a Lotus-designed, all-aluminum, 1.2-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine, rated at 50 horsepower, that serves as a range-extender after the 30-mile life of the battery pack is extinguished. Teamed with an 8.1-gallon fuel tank, the combo allows the Emerg-E to cruise about 300 miles without stopping. Offered the chance to take the Emerg-E for a quick loop around an autocross course in Southern California, I jumped at the opportunity.

The Corvette could no longer run with Porsches and Ferraris, but had become a mushy boulevard cruiser — the left seat for the middle-age driver, the right seat for her lap dog.

The Mustang aficionados at MustangG6 have come across a handful of prototypes at a hotel in Arizona.

While the cars are heavily camouflaged, the pictures suggest it will feature a prominent grille, slender headlights and new door mirrors. We can also see the model will likely have a similar roofline to its predecessor.
